CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AND SUNDAY SCHOOL
The Lutheran tradition places great emphasis on Christian education, and that begins with our children and carries through to our golden years. Sunday school for children 6-13 is offered Sunday at 10:30 a.m. A special teaching moment for children of all ages is incorporated toward the end of every worship service. The pastor meets personally to train all children of high school age in preparation for confirmation. Children enrolled in Sunday school also learn by taking an active participatory role in the in worship service, by serving as acolytes, ushers or lectors.
But Christian education doesn’t end at confirmation. Each service is oriented towards teaching and understanding God’s will for us.
Throughout the year, Bible study is featured for all ages, immediately after the service. And during Lent, a more in-depth study is undertaken as part of our Lenten devotion.
